FAQ

Common questions about the new affiliation with Pacesetter Soccer Club and name change to Pacesetter Soccer Club South

Why did Findlay Soccer Club (FSC) affiliate with Pacesetter Soccer Club?

The partnership was created to improve the consistency and quality of soccer in terms of player development, club management, coaching development and overall communication with our players and parents.

The Pacesetter Soccer Club has a track record proven success and the highest reputation for quality in every aspect of their program.  Partnering with the Pacesetter Soccer Club provides the opportunity for continued growth of our program, and a stronger playing experience for our players.

The two clubs will work together with the goal of enhancing and accelerating the development of players not just in Findlay, but throughout the Hancock County area.  Pacesetter South will have access to and support from The Pacesetter Soccer Club’s Executive Director of Coaching, their player development curriculum and more.  Pacesetter South will build a year-round soccer program that provides continuous opportunities for players to learn, grow, and play the game of soccer.  Over time, our program will adopt the coaching curriculum, player education methodology and conduct standards currently employed at The Pacesetter Soccer Club.

Is The Pacesetter Soccer Club South now operated and managed by Pacesetter Soccer Club?
No.  Pacesetter South is a part of the Hancock Soccer Association and this is not changing. This means that the recreational program, known as Hancock Soccer Association will not change. The name of the travel division is changing from Findlay Soccer Club, but will continue to be operated under the Hancock Soccer Association and managed by the current Findlay-based board of directors, coaches and other volunteers and contributors. Most importantly, the two organizations (Pacesetter Soccer Club & Pacesetter South) will still operate as separate legal entities.  However, the announcement is signficant for the partnership which will allow us to work in conjunction with the Pacesetter Soccer Club to improve the overall player development process for the club.  We believe that we can learn from their experience and expertise for the benefit of the players.

What are the fees?  Are they increasing?
The fee structure for Pacesetter South will still be determined by the local board of directors.  At this time, the board of directors is still reviewing the program offerings, and final costs for the 2016-2017 season are still being determined.    The fees for Pacesetter South will not match those of Pacesetter Soccer Club.

If the fees do increase from the current fees structure, it will not be the result of the partnership with The Pacesetter Soccer Club.  Fee changes will be made due to additional opportunities for our players, increased costs for officiating, winter indoor training, and other factors.  The board is committed to maintaining affordability while providing more training and player development in a year-round program which is competitive with what other clubs in Northwest Ohio are doing today.

What uniforms will players wear?
Pacesetter South teams will wear the same uniforms by adidas as The Pacesetter Soccer Club.

The timing to make this change is perfect!  The club is on a “new uniform” year in which players would need to order new/updated uniforms for the upcoming season, so the purchase of the Pacesetter Soccer Club uniforms will fall within that cycle.

When does this change officially take place?
Beginning at the end of the current season all teams will compete as Pacesetter South.  The website and other items will be changing over June 1, 2016.  At that time, we will launch a new website, Facebook page and email addresses.

What is The Pacesetter Soccer Club South?
Pacesetter South is a partner of The Pacesetter Soccer Club which began its mission of developing superior youth soccer players in 1980. Today, this non-profit organization with over 40 boys and girls teams from U8 to U18 is renowned for team success and individual player development.
