Tryouts

Tryout Registration is OPEN!

The tryout registration has been opened for the 2020/2021 seasonal year.

Deadline to register: 11:59pm on 6/7/20 - This is for new and returning players - Please register ASAP

With the current restrictions due to the COVID 19 pandemic we will be conducting tryouts a little different.  We will begin to offer positions for some of our returning players starting June 8th.  For players that we will need to see at a tryout we will email them directly with a date and time in which we can see them.  We are planning on holding those the week of June 15th.  We will be using coaches evaluations as a part of our process for our returning players.  While we realize this is different than in years past we are trying to be mindful of the current restrictions, the need to keep kids safe, and needing to move forward.

To register, please click on the Orange Register button above.  If you are a returning player, please login and register your players for tryouts.

Quick Questions & Answers
  1. How long are the seasons?
    • Fall Season:  Practices start in early August & games usually start at the end of August or early September.  The fall season ends in late October or early November.
    • Spring Season: Practices start in mid March & games usually start in early April.  The spring season ends in late May or early June.
  2. How often do teams practice?
    •  Twice a week for 1.5 hours
  3. How far do you travel for games?
    • Most of our teams play in NWOYSL.  For teams in NWOYSL the farthest games are an hour away.  NWOYSL games are in the Toledo area, but you could play teams in Lima, Bryan and Archbold.
    • For teams in the Ohio North State League games can be in the Cleveland area and regularly play teams in the Mansfield area as well.
    • Parents will be told what league the team is playing in before they have to accept a spot on a team.
  4. How many games do you play?
    • Most teams play an 8-10 game schedule with half of the games played at home (Emory Adams park) and the other half out of town.
  5. Are you required to play both the fall and spring seasons?
    • Yes.  When you accept a spot on a team, you are committing to play for the full year - unless during a supplemental roster addition, which will be for the spring season.
  6. Do you have to buy a new uniform every year?
    • No, uniforms are usually purchased every two years.  The cost of the uniform is not included in the fees and is a separate cost.
    • The club will be getting completely new uniforms for the Fall 2020-Spring 2021 club year because our current uniform is no longer being manufactured by adidas.
  7. My son/daughter will be a U8 next year.  Will they play 4 v 4 without a goalkeeper like the new USSF rules are dictating?
    • It depends.  We have seen and been told of great success with 4V4 in the NWOYSL.  We will look at the age group and decide what is best for development of players.
